I have the most amazing Mum. I honestly do. She is compassionate, good for a laugh, spontaneous, driven and a great friend… everything in this life that I aspire to be.

Everything she does, she commits to 100%. She left school to train as a nurse, a job which she was born to do. Recently, she became the first member of her family to graduate from university. To earn her degree, she juggled family¬†commitments¬†and full-time work, as well as the demands of studying (something which I can now sympathise with as I am a second year uni student myself)… and I honestly don’t know how she did it.

She now works at Sydney Children’s Hospital and every single day is doing something good for people she doesn’t even know. How many of us can say that?

She taught me to think outside of myself, that to make a difference to someone’s life is more rewarding than money can ever be. She encouraged me to follow my dreams and find what I am truly passionate about. She is my biggest supporter, my best friend.

In so many ways, we’re alike. Strangers often comment how I am a mini version of my Mum… in looks I have to agree. But if I become a woman, a mother, as wonderful as she is, I will be very happy.

Happy Mothers’ Day to all our wonderful mothers, but especially to mine.

P.S. Please send me some love through comments…
